A cold weather necessity: Hot chocolate! For a twist on traditional decadence, this wholesome recipe still satisfies and takes only 5 minutes to make! You can opt to use 2% milk instead of almond milk. Pro tip: Taste first then adjust slightly if needed. Perhaps a pinch more salt or syrup to balance out the bitterness of the chocolate and cocoa.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2.5 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tbsp Canadian maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • Splash of Cartier Irish Cream
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan until simmering.
  2. Add cocoa powder, syrup, and salt, then whisk together.
  3. Add vanilla and chocolate whisking until melted in.
  4. Pour into a mug with a splash of Cartier Irish Cream and enjoy!
